![]() ![]() Boss fights are few and far between it seems, but they are amazing. You don't run fast and your attacks aren't super quick either, so it's all about timing and learning patterns. At the start of a battle, you feel like you can take down this giant fool, but they have several phases and near the end when your resources start to drain but their HP pool isn't, things start to get intense. Your attacks do very little damage and their health pool is gigantic. If you enjoy FANTASTIC graphics, great sound and music and a, well, experience, this is the game for you.įorgot to add: You just smack the bosses to damage them. If you're expecting a fast pace, hack and slash type of game with an XP meter and tons of upgrades, you're looking at the wrong game. Seems mostly optional, but they do seem to make your life less miserable. There's optional (?) spells to be collected in the enviroments you traverse to get the runes to challenge the Jotun's and also Apples that increase your life pool. Tonight I was and I had a good time exploring, doing some fairly simple exploration puzzles and beating a Jotun (Fre?). I'm not always into puzzles or atmosphere games and that's when I choose not to play it. :) Fun is in the eye of the beholder, or the one who holds the controller. You're just not that good, but that's okay. Originally posted by Zeholipael:It took me like 80 minutes to beat the first boss. So the 2 levels actually teachs you how to fight them, but even so you're going to die a lot, becuse you have to learn attack paterns, you need patiente to know when to attack and you have to learn every time you die, learn how to improve yourself next time! The cool part is, every giant is different, since they are like a encarnation of the 2 levels prior to them, they use the puzzles/dangerous of the levels against you, they have everything the 2 levels had as powers. ![]() When you finish both levels, getting one rune from each, you get to open the boss area where you will fight the Jotun (Giant) of that region and then you have to fight him using everything i said before. In these maps all you do is exploration and puzzles, the puzzles are very cool and unique based upon the "nature" of the level, sometimes is just how to travel without dying, others you have to think, and most of them you have to be careful to not lose yourself. Prior to every boss fight you have to go into 2 levels, every map has one god shrine (where you can get new powers or upgrade a power you already have) and one golden apple (increases your max hp by 10%). The combat system doesn't get boring becuse you don't use it as much as other "hack'n slash games", if you don't know yet the game is divided in two parts: exploration and boss fights. Besides these basic moves you have the God's Blessings (Circle/B), you have 5 powers and they give you advantages such as: move speed bonus, more damage to heavy attack, shield that make you invunerable, heal and the other one i forgot! ![]() You can attack and dodge, you only have 3 attacks: Heavy (Triangle/Y), Light (Square/X) e Dodge Attack (Press Light Attack right after dodging). The Combat is simple, but it's fun without a doubt.
