![]() ![]() Eventually I got it to work after numerous tries. First off, after plugging it in first time, windows reported that a new device is being installed, and was installed as a Arduino Leonardo, even though I didnt previously install drivers as noted on sparkfuns website. The Arduino will flash various LEDs, and then the simple Blink sketch will load. Hello folks, my brand new Pro Micro with an ATmega32U4 5V 16MHz doesnt get recognized by PC and the IDE. I hope someone would be able to point out any mistakes I have made or give me some pointers as to how to fix the issue. Quickly double press the reset button on the Leonardo The Windows 10 computer will make the sound about the USB port being disconnected, and then reconnected. I have attached a png of my schematic and error message as well as my gerber files. I have soldered 4 boards now, all having the same issue, so I don't think it is my soldering incompetence causing the issue. ![]() Since then I haven't made any significant changes to the schematic besides adding the usb type C connector in the place of the type c connector breakout board. This is my second version of the board- the first version used a usb type c breakout board and was consequently far easier to solder- the first board worked perfectly. I have been able to successfully burn the Arduino bootloader onto the chip using the pcb but when I get round to plugging it into the computer through a usb type c connector, the device shows up in device manager as 'Unknown USB device' instead of a COM port. I notice that the Tools> port is disabled. The board may disappear from the Serial Port list but don’t worry. Hello Ive been trying out my new arduino leonardo I just received. Make sure you select a basic sketch like Blink. The following events will cause the USB hub driver to enumerate a USB device as an Unknown Device: A port reset request timed out during enumeration. The trick to fixing this is first restart (important step) your Arduino IDE software and make sure you select Arduino Micro under Tools->Boards. In these cases the USB device will appear as Unknown Device in Device Manager, and will have a Device ID of USB\VID0000&PID0000 and a Hardware ID and Compatible ID of USB\UNKNOWN. Generic HID devices do not need any external drivers, so the misapplication of the Leonardo drivers can be fixed by using a generic (open-source) USB VID and PID in the BOARDS.TXT file. This will then show up in Windows as Unknown device. My program has not been working as intended, so I decided to try to reset the Arduino by wiring the RESET and GROUND pins together 2x. This is caused by the Windows drivers for Leonardo/Micro being explicitly told to expect a keyboard and mouse. I have designed a pcb that uses the atmega32u4 to recreate the arduino leonardo. Hi everyone, Ive been using the Arduino Pro Micro for a few days now. I have compiled it successfully, but when I try to upload I get the following: Connecting to programmer: Found programm. Hi there, I am having issues with a standalone atmega32u4 project i've been working on and was hoping someone would be able to help I am trying to upload the test sketch from the readme to an arduino leonardo. ![]()
